How to create your perfect holistic phone counselling space

Counselling is your special time, it is time you have scheduled to look after you, to take care of you. 

To get to know you. Knowing you can make a comfortable and safe space for yourself is part of the healing journey. One of the benefits of holistic phone counselling is you create your own space.

I invite you to give some thoughtful consideration to how you could create a personal space that not only accommodates your physical needs but also nurtures your emotional and mental well-being as we navigate the inevitable challenges that life presents. In a world that often feels chaotic and overwhelming, having a sanctuary where you can retreat, reflect, and rejuvenate is essential. How can you transform your environment into a haven of comfort and support? What specific elements can you incorporate to ensure that your space is not just a place to sit, but a nurturing environment that fosters your growth and resilience?


Would it help if you had a cup of tea, a blanket, were sitting in the garden, or walking by the beach? 

Would having something in your hands help, perhaps some colouring in?

Do you want some essential oils and soft music in the background?

Do you have a furry friend who'd love to sit with you?

Would it help to have tissues near by?

Consider a "Counselling Journal" a little journal dedicated to your healing journey.


You can use your journal to "park" thoughts between sessions, to remind you of things you would like to talk about in session. Perhaps you have used a strategy successfully that you would like to acknowledge, or had an experience that you would like a strategy to navigate next time. Maybe you had a thought that you wanted to further explore in your session, and of course there may be little Ah-ha moments that you have in session that you may like to make a note of.


A counselling Journal can be a beautiful way of noticing how you have supported yourself through the journey of healing.
