General Counselling

Sometimes life feels hard.

That is a statement of truth that doesn't always need any further explanation - I think we have all been through a difficult period in life.

It may be that you are going through a transitions in life, as we do, often. It may be that you are wanting to create a new pathway - change your life up a little and are unsure which direction to take. Perhaps you have a decision to make and don't feel you have the clarity needed to make the decision. Perhaps an area of your life is causing you Stress, Anxiety, Fear, Confusion Or maybe you are lacking motivation and are feeling stuck.

There are so many reasons people come to counselling. If any area of your life is feeling unbalanced and you want to improve your overall wellbeing, then counselling may be for you. It is a space where we build a relationship based on trust, where you feel heard, understood, and seen.

A few things we may work through in Counselling

There are so many reasons you may be looking for a counsellor and the main reason you would is because you want to. The benefits to counselling are many, but a few include -

  • You are not attending counselling because there is something wrong with you, you are attending to make sense of how the world around you is impacting your wellbeing

  • You are looking for Person Centred, Client Led care rather than clinical support

  • There is no diagnosis required - so no need to get a Mental Health Care Plan, Counselling can be a preventative intervention.

(I know, not everyone realises that when you are given a MHCP by your GP, you are also given a clinically diagnosed Mental Disorder, so this is a link to the information)

  • Counselling is confidential, and because there is no MHCP you do not have to disclose you are attending to anyone, including your Dr. I do not write reports for your GP.

  • There is no limit to how many sessions you have, you can return to sessions at any time (dependent on availability of course)

  • Sometimes it is the only space you have that is dedicated to you - Getting to know yourself, your dreams, your struggles, your goals, your past.

If you think you might want to work with me, I invite you to book a 15 minute connection call or you can book in your first session online. I have also put together a post about how to create a holistic space for yourself.

Free 15 Minute Connection Call

A 15 minute Connection Call is available for you to share your situation and discuss ways in which we may be able to work together. It is important that you feel comfortable and safe to start your counselling, so this call is designed to answer your questions and for you to learn a little bit more about me, to make sure that you and I both feel we would be a good fit for you to reach your navigate your challenges.
